This experiential workshop will equip you with tools to tackle the formidable but rewarding role of Product Owner. You’ll gain real practice in class through hands-on exercises, project simulations and live demonstrations. Our goal is that you leave class with a sense that you’ve not only grasped the concepts but that you’ve now “done” it.
Certified Scrum Product Owners have been taught the Scrum terminology, practices, and principles that enable them to fulfill the role of Product Owner on a Scrum team. CSPOs are typically the individuals who are closest to the “business side” of the project. They are charged by the organization to “get the product out” and are expected to do the best possible job of satisfying all the stakeholders. CSPOs maintain the product backlog and ensure that everyone knows the priorities.
Taking the CSPO course is the first step on your path of becoming more Agile. To truly master Scrum, experience and continuing education are necessary.

No, the training cannot be taken online. Sync IT Learning and Scrum Alliance believes that understanding Scrum requires a greater level of personal interaction than cannot be delivered in a virtual environment. Our Certified Scrum Product Owner course engage participants in live, interactive learning, free from the obstacles inherent in an online activity.
We would recommend taking both the training one after the other (batch details [schedule & timings available on our website]).
Both CSM and CSPO certification carry their own value and their own weight, one job can demand you to be CSM versus another one can ask you to be a CSPO. Yes, there is a difference. This is the big question. And, who to better tell us about the courses than the Scrum Alliance itself:
CSM Course and Certification: “Our CSM trainers will teach you what you need to know to fill the role of Scrum Master (or Scrum team member). This course focuses on the basics of the Scrum framework, including team roles, activities, and artifacts, so that you can be an effective member of a Scrum team.”
CSPO Course and Certification: “The CSPO course gives you enough information to understand how Scrum works, but focuses mainly on functioning as the product owner, or customer, for a Scrum team. You will learn about activities such as managing stakeholders, ROI, backlog grooming, creating effective stories, acceptance criteria for stories, defining done, and so on.”
Becoming Agile is a lifelong journey. Incorporating Scrum principles and practices into your world of work takes diligence, patience, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Further enhance your knowledge and skills by:
Joining a user group
Sharing your experience with the Scrum Alliance community by contributing an article to our website
Attending Scrum Alliance Gatherings
Participating in the CSPO LinkedIn Group
Becoming a Certified Scrum Professional
You can let others know about your accomplishments with a CSPO certificate, CSPO logos, and an active, editable profile on the Scrum Alliance website.
No, your class cannot be transferred to a different month once enrolled on the same fee/enrollment and you cannot retake/repeat the class on the same enrollment fee again.
No, the fee is non-refundable because of the limited seating and we have to push the potential new enrollments away due to limited number of class. Once paid, the CSPO fee will not be refunded, if for any reason you cannot take the training.
No. There are no prerequisites for Certified Scrum Product Owner training programs. This in an introductory course, designed for students with little or no practical Scrum experience. However, we recommend students have some experience working on complex, team-based projects.
Product Owner students will need to accept the Scrum Alliance terms & conditions. Once agreed to, students may download and print out their certification directly from the Scrum Alliance website.
Attend a two-day CSPO course taught by a Certified Scrum Trainer. This course will help you understand how Scrum works by focusing on your role as the Product Owner, or customer, for a Scrum team. Topics that are covered include managing stakeholders, ROI, backlog grooming, creating effective user stories, acceptance criteria for user stories, and defining “Done.”
As a CSPO, you will be able to fulfill the role of Product Owner on a Scrum team. You will also gain access to local user groups, online social networks, and other exclusive resources for CSPOs. In addition, CSPOs receive a profile page on the Scrum Alliance website and will have access to a specially designed logo to highlight their credentials.
Course Instructors will upload student information into the Scrum Alliance. Within 5 business days of the course, students will receive an email with Scrum Alliance login information outlining the steps to follow. Sync IT Learning pays the initial membership fee for each student who successfully completes a Certified Scrum Product Owner course. This membership fee covers the cost of the CSPO certification and the first two years of membership with Scrum Alliance.
No, there is no exam after attending the CSPO class. You attend the two day workshop and attain your CSPO certification.
